A benefit fundraiser for Maui Cancer Wellness Retreats
Our annual Royal High Tea fundraiser takes place at Lona Ridge Estates. We invite you to step back in time with a historical tour of Maui’s grandest estate. Enjoy savory delights and sweet treats prepared by a renowned Maui chef. Bid on a bevy of tantalizing items during Silent and Live Auctions. Receive the “royal” treatment while doing something truly joyous – touching the lives of Maui’s cancer survivors.
We will announce the date for the 2021 Royal High Tea soon!
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds will go towards scholarships for cancer patients to attend MCWR’s Retreats.
The 2019 Royal High Tea was held on April 28, 2019 at Lona Ridge and drew an estimated 90 guests. It featured a menu prepared by Chef Bev Gannon; a silent and live auction; entertainment by harpist, Irene Ryding and violinist, Joan Padgett; with master of ceremony, Dean Wong.

On April 26, 2020, we would have held our Royal High Tea fundraiser event with our Maui ‘ohana. Though COVID-19 changed our original plans, it cannot dampen our spirits!
Dr. Bridget Bongaard is raising a cup of tea today to celebrate us journeying together for a more abundant, full life with better health and wellness. In order to celebrate the noble spirit of our survivors that we serve in Maui County, MCWR is continuing to work on plans to resume its fundraising efforts.
The British cup of tea, “or cuppa,” is a symbol of sharing and caring. Three weeks ago we launched a weekly virtual “Share and Care” check-in every Thursday, for cancer survivors, to stay connected, strong, and resilient by sharing our life circumstances and wisdom with each other.
We also just launched our “The New You” video series, which allows us to continue to share science, self-care, and wellness skills in video format.
